Economic Development

The Port has taken an active part in economic development in North Mason through participation in the Chamber of Commerce, Allyn Community Association and Allyn & Belfair Planning efforts.  

Our primary goal now is to upgrade and expand our water system in Allyn to provide water so new businesses can locate in Allyn - due to limited water rights there has not been a commercial hook up in over 9 years.  We started the project June 12th and hope to complete Phase 2 by early Fall.

Future Port plans include a business or light industrial park north of Belfair. (Map)

Tourism

We support the local tourist industry by maintaining year-round recreational boating facilities with a dock and two launch ramps and waterfront park AND Kayak Park in Allyn on Case Inlet (Puget Sound) as well as a dock and launch ramp on Hood Canal near Belfair State Park. The Allyn Waterfront Park is busy year-round with local events. The beautiful waterfront setting and large gazebo make it a favorite location for weddings throughout the summer.  We anticipate further development to encourage "concerts in the park" and possibly an annual art show and other seasonal events.
