March 5, 2008"><U><I><B>What's New" </B></I></U></A><FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#FF0033" FACE="BD Garmonde" ><I><B>for the Latest Information </B></I></FONT></div> </td> <td valign="top" height=390 BGCOLOR="#FFFFFF" TEXT="#080000"> <div> Economic Development</div> <bR> <div> The Port has taken an active part in economic development in Mason County through participation in the Chamber of Commerce, Allyn Community Association, Allyn & Belfair Planning efforts including the North Mason Sewer projects and other infrastructure projects, and we hold a permanent Board position on the Mason County Economic Development Council.  </div> <bR> <div> Our primary goal now is to upgrade and expand our water system in Allyn to provide water so new businesses can locate in Allyn - due to limited water rights there has not been a commercial hook up in over 9 years.  We started the project June 12th and hope to complete Phase 2 by the end of August.</div> <bR> <div> Future Port plans include a business or light industrial park north of Belfair. (<A HREF="id82.htm" TARGET="_top" TITLE="Port of Allyn District Map"><U>Map</U></A>) </div> <DIV ALIGN="LEFT"></DIV> <div> <B>T</B>ourism</div> <div> We support the local tourist industry by maintaining year-round recreational boating facilities with a dock and two launch ramps and waterfront park AND Kayak Park in Allyn on Case Inlet (Puget Sound) as well as a dock and launch ramp on Hood Canal near Belfair State Park. March 5, 2008"><U>What's New?</U></A>" </FONT>for more information.</div> <bR> <div> The <A HREF="id85.htm" TARGET="_top" TITLE="Allyn Dock Waterfront Park"><U>Allyn Waterfront Park</U></A> is busy year-round with local events. The beautiful waterfront setting and large gazebo make it a favorite location for weddings throughout the summer.  We anticipate further development to encourage "concerts in the park" and possibly an annual art show and other seasonal events.</div> <bR> </td> </tr></table></body>
